Zombie Shoot and Halloween!

Good news for those that give a damn! Split Eye Productions is in preproduction for a new video project! It’s a zombie film, or more appropriately, a zombie serial. Not going to give away too much, but the idea was developed a couple years ago through email banter between a couple friends of mine. A short script was slapped together and never really went anywhere. The idea is sound, in my opinion, and I never really forgot about it. Perhaps The Walking Dead series that’s starting this Halloween on AMC jogged the idea loose and inspired me once again.

So far, we’ve got a cast of six players, and a corpse. We plan to shoot 3 scenes next weekend. We’ll shoot the zombie backdrop action and cutaways the following week. I’m hoping to get a good group of people together for that day. No zombie film is complete without a street full of the undead! My neighbors will love me!

Digging through my closet I found all the parts to my Glide-cam! Yay. As you can see, it shows off my complacent and sedentary physique quite well…

If I recall, that contraption is a back breaker! It was bad when I was 25lbs lighter and 5 years younger. Hopefully I’ll be able to work my cinematographic magic with that thing like I did in the old days!

“What’s that in the background of the photo?” you ask…

Why Halloween masks from years past. These are the only ones that have survived over the years. They’re sculpted in celluclay, paper clay, and rigid wrap, with an unhealthy helping of rusty nails.
