Day 5 and 6: Train to Fort William

A funny thing happened on the way to Fort William…

The 4th day of the trip was going well. We went to the National Gallery and saw some amazing art.

We crossed the Thames and enjoyed being ridiculous tourists.

We hung out in a cozy pub biding our time.

We even got back to the train station way ahead of time to have a couple beers at this cool little pub right at the entrance of the station.

Unfortunately, we got our times wrong. We thought we were leaving at 10:30, but in fact, the train left at 8:30. Shitty part about it…we were sitting right outside the station having a grand ol’ time. Enjoying our last lazy day in London.

That night we got a tiny hotel room near the station after arranging for new tickets to Fort William. We were wrecked. We slept a really poor two hours before waking up at the ass crack of dawn to catch our new train. Barbara’s a real trooper, very cool under pressure. A good travel companion!

Now I must sleep. Tomorrow, we drive to the highlands!
