Brooklyn and the Museum

Going back a few days on this one. Back to when the endless fucking lameness that was Pennsylvania was destined to spoil my trip, Thursday, August 4th. I slid into New Jersey with no expectations of the level of suck I was going to experience. As it turns out, New Jersey was gorgeously green. Even the overpasses were overrun with vegetation. The highway runs between two giant concrete walls that look like they can barely hold back the trees. Then, bam, Jersey City pops up out of nowhere. The green gives way to the ugliest industry and concrete and steel you’ve ever seen. One brick warehouse after another. Everything crammed together.

Unfortunately I couldn’t capture any of that ugly urban chaos because I was too fascinated by it all, and I couldn’t get to my iPhone to snap a few pictures. I’ll try to post video as soon as I can. Those photos above were my Gordy shots from the Jersey side of the Holland Tunnel.

The toll booth lady took my cash and I told her to have a wonderful afternoon. She smiled and laughed as if I was the first person to ever wish her any good will. Go figure.

Snapped a few pictures as I made my way to Crown Heights.

Past Ebbets Field, which I learned later used to be a baseball field. Strange that they tore it down to put in a massive public housing complex. 1600 apartments. That’s a lotta ghetto in one lot.

Finally after 2 days of driving I make it to Brian’s place!

I’m sitting here in the Waffle House in Maryland updating my blog. No one here, then a couple of douche bags come in and put Achey Breaky Heart on the juke box. Motherfuckers. Now I gotta leave. Will finish this later.
