Mac Death

It’s given me 6 good years, my first generation Mac Pro. 2.6Ghz quad core perfection. She up and burned out her power supply this. The snap crackle pop of electrical fire and the stench of ozone. It’s a good thing I’d just replaced the main hard drive and installed Adobe CS5 Production Suite a month ago. That was money well spent. The Jar, my epic swan song of amateur hour filmmaking, was on there. All my classic films like Yard Ape and The Icehouse Video and the Award winning Bad Intentions. Not to mention 120 GB of iTunes content. The natural thing would be to get a new computer. A fresh new Mac Pro with 8 or 12 cores! Unfortunately Apple has finally priced those fuckers out of the range of everyday people. $2499-$4999 for a friggin’ computer! I’m sure iMacs are great, but you can’t cram a Blackmagic video card into them, they’re just glorified laptops with giant monitors. Mac minis….ugh.

Of course I could just see about a new power supply…
