It was a long hard day of riding yesterday. I had to make up for lost time. I’m developing driver’s ADD, oh, look at the pretty clouds, oh look, another ratty gas station! At the rate I’m going, I’ll need another week to get in all the destinations I have planned! Here’s some of my last shots of New Mexico.
In case you’re wondering, I drove from Albuquerque to Big Spring, TX. I had to give it a rest at around 1:30am. My ass had had enough. Days Inn to the rescue. Nice Indian guy named Patel helped this rambling fool out.
Woke up around 9:30, so I went to make the complimentary coffee. The water from the faucet smelled like sulfur and tasted salty!!!! I made the coffee anyway. I feel surprisingly good considering my arms, legs, and back are sore.
This about all I saw of the pool.
The owner of the hotel told me that this area pumps a million gallons of oil a day and that these 3 towns are putting up wind farms and solar farms. Who woulda thought Texas to be so progressive… I kid the Texans.
